Zircon Flour

The Zircon Flour  is made through grinding of natural high-purity zircon sand, which is an additive for ceramic glaze material with a larger particle size than zirconium silicate. As an indispensable additive in the field of material science, the application of Zircon Flour is gradually expanded and increased.

The Zircon Flour has a high refractive index of 1.93-2.01 and excellent chemical stability, is a kind of lower-cost and higher-quality opacification agent . It is not only used as the main material in the ceramic industry, but also used for glazing, which can increase the wear resistance and surface finish of the ceramic products. Zircon Flour is widely applied in the processing and production of architectural ceramics, sanitary ceramics, household ceramics, first-class handicraft ceramics and ceramic glaze. Due to Zircon Flour’s good chemical stability, it won’t be affected by the ceramic firing atmosphere and can significantly improve the bonding performance of ceramic body and glaze, and the hardness of ceramic glaze. Zircon Flour has also been further applied in emulsification glass of glass industry, enamel glaze production. With high melting point 2500 degrees Celsius, Zircon Flour is also widely used in refractory materials, glass kiln, zircon ramming materials, castable, and spray coating.

Application of Zircon Flour:

2. Used as whitening and brightening agent in the frit and glass industry.

3. For its wear-resistance in friction material, widely used in brake block.

4. Acting as host material and glaze additive, to improve wear resistance and surface finish of the finished ceramic products.
